Each year we accept applications and hold selective auditions for our cheerleading, songleading, mascot, pep flag, dance/drill, and drum major programs. The USA Instructional Staff teaches close to 20,000 students each year at camps in California, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Arizona and Hawaii. In addition, the USA produces dozens of spirit, dance, and band competitions, clinics, and rallies. Each year we host special tour events in California, Hawaii and England.
Each year, we accept applications from mid-August to mid-October. We will review and consider each application for a possible invitation to attend regional auditions held in December/January.
Applications are due on or before October 15, 2012.

USA Support Staff / Job Opportunities
The USA Support Staff makes sure things are running smoothly “behind the scenes.” A USA camp generally has a Camp Director, Head Counselor, Roadie, Medical and Store personnel.

We accept Support Staff applications year round. However, you may not be contacted regarding the status of your application until the first part of the year.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Most of our Support Staff work near the area in which they live. There are some opportunities for travel, primarily within California. The majority of our camps are held in California, Washington, Oregon and Utah.

A Roadie must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. S/he sets up sound equipment (no prior knowledge necessary), maintains water and cup supplies, runs camp errands and helps out around camp in any way possible. A USA Roadie must be a hard worker, be able to prioritize tasks, and be willing to do a variety tasks necessary to the smooth running of camp.
A Head Counselor must be 21+ years old and female. She either has past experience with or is currently working with a cheer squad, dance team, band or other school-affiliated group. A USA Head Counselor is responsible for student registration at camp, nighttime rounds, and general camper well-being. A USA Head Counselor must be organized, positive, friendly and able to interact with high school and junior high aged students.
A First Aid Staff member must hold ATC or related credential. If applicant is a student trainer, s/he should be enrolled in college with a major of Athletic Training, Kinesiology or related field. A First Aid Staff member must have current CPR/First Aid certification and must have completed basic athletic training classes as well as a minimum of 500 hours in the training room of their university. The USA First Aid staff is on call 24 hours a day. S/he is responsible for the physical health of campers and must be knowledgeable, friendly, calm and able to keep records.
A USA Storekeeper must be at least 18 years old, able to handle and account for money, able to set up store merchandise and willing to help with other tasks at camp when the store is closed. A USA Storekeeper must be friendly, outgoing, organized and able to keep an inventory of merchandise.
